Being ill, even just a little ill, can feel very lonely. We can
probably all think of someone who, when they get a bad cold,
reverts to a child who wants to be nurtured and cared for by
their “mommy” and who is pissed off that no one seems to
notice or care. Maybe we make fun of them, but only gently if it happens to be our husband! But in all honesty, we each have a bit of that child in us and it does not feel good to be isolated from others when we are feeling under the weather. All kinds of catastrophic scenarios can play out in our heads……”
